The City of Manchester’s finest music studio Astar Studios has been providing professional recording services and helping artists and bands from throughout the UK and Internationally to develop their sound since 2008. Based in Greater Manchester with ideal transport links from the city centre Astar Studios has recorded, mixed and mastered projects for major and independent record labels including, Universal Music, Decca and EMI as well as television companies including ITV, BBC and Channel 4. Astar Studios has also worked for large brands including Pepsi, Sky Boxxer, The Co-op and Yamaha on advertisements.
Astar Studios was custom built to create hi-end recordings and music production of exceptional quality at affordable rates, by combining state-of-the-art control room technology and large and versatile live room acoustics, for capturing all musical genres and styles coupled with world class recording equipment, musical instruments and backline.

In addition to high-quality audio recording including voiceovers and podcasts, postproduction services include: mix and mastering, podcasting, cd and vinyl manufacture, audiobook recording and audio restoration. The stunning live room is large enough for music videos and content filming on site and was designed by one of Europe’s top acousticians. Our live room provides the ambience and natural reverberation that provides depth and character to recorded tracks. The room’s unique sonic qualities contribute to the overall sound and vibe of the recording, enhancing the authenticity and richness of the captured performance. All recordings are personally produced, audio engineered and mixed by Andy Ross, supported by a highly skilled team including many of the UK’s finest session musicians. Where required, Andy is available to write for and co-write with artists. Andy is an International Writer for Clippers Music based in Barcelona whereby he has written for numerous artists and tv shows. Andy has worked with and performed alongside artists including the likes of Ian Brown from the Stone Roses, Madonna and Manchester rapper Geko and a host of top musicians including drummer Steve White (The Who, Paul Weller, Oasis), bass player Neil Fairclough (Queen) and keyboardist Steve Power (Rick Astley). Emerging artists can benefit from special unsigned rates, free preproduction and custom Single, EP and Album packages with a choice of optional post production services to release their music from the Astar Network of approved industry partners for photography, video, web design, social media, physical and digital distribution, creative writing and PR. We aim to empower artists with all the tools necessary to take that next step.
Astar Studios is easily accessible by road and rail from all north west locations including Greater Manchester (Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton), Lancashire (Blackburn, Blackpool, Heywood Preston), Cheshire (Stockport, Altrincham, Crewe, Chester), plus only a 40-minute drive from Liverpool and Leeds. For international, London based and other UK clients from further afield we have specially discounted arrangements with a variety of local hotels and accommodation to offer residential facilities. There is loads of parking on site which is free.
